This Year's Project: Security Cameras

The purpose of The Friends of the Wymore Public Library shall be to maintain an association of persons interested in books, and libraries; to focus public attention on library services, facilities, and needs and to stimulate gifts of books, magazines, desirable collections, endowments, and bequests.

Current Project: Security Cameras

The purpose for this project is to request funding to insure safety, and to prevent theft and/or vandalism, within the walls and the front exterior of the Wymore Public Library. We recently had theft of several items in our computer area. We made changes to make it more difficult to have freedom in this area. This change is more time consuming for staff and prevents the staff from performing other duties, especially when working alone. We are a small library with many activities, some going on simultaneously, which prevents us from observing the independent areas. Our book drop, located in front of the Library, has been vandalized many times, resulting in the destruction of library materials. We have added DVDs to our collection and would like very much for this added service to be successful and free from theft. We feel security is a very important step to take in order for us to continue to offer our many free services. We can not continue to replace the stolen, or destroyed items. We have been assured that an eight-camera port system with backup, will put our minds at ease for coverage.
