Current Project: Cooler protected Awning




Five years ago, through donations, we replaced our very old 9ft x 13ft cooler/freezer with a 9ft x 60 ft cooler/freezer.  The old unit had a metal floor, however our new units have insulated concrete floors!  This purchase was based upon the large volumn of food that we began serving to our veterans/families and public alike.  Two years ago a portion of our community was devestated by a very powerful softball size hail storm.  Since that time we have been praying that we do not get hit again until we can protect our investment with an awning.  

This awning, 12ft x 62ft would protect our electrical equipment for our cooler/freezer, the cooler/ freezer itself as well as provide some protection to staff as they carry food out to our drive through orders, as well as staying out of the weather as they take a break on the picnic table.

Any funds we receive will be earmarked specifically for this project, which has become our PRIORITY PROJECT.

  • Cedar lounge


    Project Details

    The lounge (main bar) area of our Post is the last inside project of our remodeling since we first began in 2020 - having been shut down due to covid.  We will be removing the carpeting and installing vinyl planking.  We will tear out the bar and bar back area and replace the bar with sealed cedar planks that we milled from cedar trees, removed from property of a veteran, to help him clear his property.   We will install a new bar back, from cedar and include two upright beverage coolers.

     



  • Veterans Club RV Park


    Project Details

      For the past three years we having been working on adding an RV Park to our property.  This will give visiting Veterans or family of our Veterans a location to relax, enjoy our community, the company of their family as well as our Veterans Club.  We first meet with Randy Hass, the owner of the prooerty and described our vision to him.  Mr Hass provided a very gracious donation to us for the prooperty.     Working through various members of our Veterans Club organizations, as well as community members, we have seen our vision come to life.  We currently have four concrete pads for RVs with full hook up for water, electrical and sewer.  We also have a 5th location on gravel by our garages with water and electrical. 

    We have contacted a local contractor to install an automatic sprinkler system and a local lawn service to seed our ground, after volunteers hand raked and hauled off 84 wheel barrels of rock and weeds.  Finally we contacted a local landscape company to draw up plans to enclose the new RV Park with trees and shrubs.  ANY donation amount would be greatly welcomed to have the final steps come to life.

Warrens Community Dinner Table (WCDT)

Established in January 2001, WCDT is a weekly ministry serving a free meal to those in need from 5:30 to 6:30 pm every Tuesday at Christ Church Episcopal parish hall.   A meal can be picked up by way of take out or you can come inside to eat and socialize.
