This Year's Project: Supporting Local Communities
The Gage County Foundation exists for the purpose of raising and providing funds for the benefit of Gage County non-profit organizations engaged in the pursuit of serving the educational, cultural, recreational, historical, health and all meaningful needs of our Gage County Citizens.
The Gage County Foundation is a vehicle for people of all means to make a lasting difference in the community causes they care about. The central purpose the Gage County Foundation is to serve the needs and philanthropic aims of donors who wish to better their community, now and in the future. We do this by providing donors with flexible, efficient, and tax-effective ways to ensure their charitable giving achieves the greatest possible impact. The concept of the Foundation is as ingenious as it is simple - it is a means to build substantial endowment funds for our community through contributions large and small. Because the contributions are endowed, they are never spent. Instead, they are permanently invested to produce income. The income earned is then used to help meet the community's charitable needs, according to YOUR donor interests and the current needs and opportunities in the community. So gifts to the Gage County Foundation continue to benefit our community forever. This is philanthropy in its broadest sense.
Current Project: Supporting Local Communities
Since its inception in 1981, the Gage County Foundation has funded grants of over $730,000 to worthwhile projects in Gage County. The goal of the Foundation is to coordinate the various sources of support available in Gage County in an effort to make these funds available for worthwhile causes. Every year, grants requests total close to $30,000, and the Gage County Foundation is only able to fund 60% of those requests. The Gage County Foundation seeks to raise funds to add to their exsisting Endowment Account, which will allow 100% of area grant requests to be filled.
