About Our Organization

Pickrell Historical and Betterment Association (PHBA) is a designated 501(c)(3) nonprofit association with the stated purposes of (a) fundraising and completing community betterment projects within the Village of Pickrell; (b) Erecting, maintaining and beautifying public parks, buildings and monuments within the Village; (c) Organizing and funding an annual community celebration honoring the history and heritage of Pickrell. As part of this purpose, PHBA works in partnership with the Village of Pickrell to enhance and support village property and the quality of life of its citizens. PHBA has worked with the community to refurbish the Pickrell Park shelter, install new play equipment, erect a beautiful veterans memorial to honor our military service men and women, remodeled the community center, and recently helped with the expansion of the fire hall and installation of decorative street lights. Annually PHBA also hosts multiple community celebrations and social events.

Current Project: PIckrell Park Refencing Project

The old school yard fencing in Pickrell Park north is falling apart!

After more than 6+ decades of standing strong, the north park fence is falling down and becoming a potential hazard to park users and problem for adjacent property owners. To fully refurbish the fence line, new poles need to be set and a 7-foot chain-link fence strung along the property line, measuring about 500 feet.

Once installed, parents will be able to freely let children play in the area without concern for their safety. This is a large project and your donation through BIG GIVE GAGE County will help us jump-start the project.
