This Year's Project: Save A Building....Bigger Library
About Our Organization
The Odell Public Library begin in March 2018. We started this Library on donations and volunteer hours. We are in a shared space with the local trails museum. We provide library services to our community and surrounding communities for 8 hours a week. We provide other programs for patron enjoyment such as book clubs, adult programs, children's programs and reading programs.
Current Project: Save A Building....Bigger Library
The Odell Public Library opened in March. 2018. We started this Library with a few donations and the hard work of dedicated volunteers. Currently, we are in a shared space with the local trails museum. We provide library services to our community and surrounding communities for 8 hours a week as well as programs for our patrons such as book clubs, adult programs, children's programs and reading programs.
But now we need your help. We have over 2000 titles in our library and we've outgrown our space. We also want to add a maker's space in order to expand the services we offer. A building on Main Street in Odell is available but will take significant funding to rehab the space. Our big goal is to raise $100,000 to create our new space and save a historic building downtown, simultaneously.
BIG GIVE GAGE is our fundraising kick-off for this BIG GOAL! We're working to raise $20,000 during on September 10th in order to receive matching funds available through the Big Give initiative. There are also matching grants available to small public libraries that we will be elible for if we meet our goal during the Big Give campaign.
We believe that Odell is a great place to live and that is largely due to the committment and generosity of those who live there and grew up there. Help us continue that great tradition!
